I am a fashion and textiles designer. I have had my own company for the past 20 years. I started designing lace curtains, but it’s evolved into fashion, kids, swimwear & vintage.
I have been interested in interiors since I was a little girl. My Mum was an interior designer and she would often take me into London to choose fabrics and wallpapers for her clients. I have been hooked ever since.
We live in an old rambling Georgian house in Somerset and have been here for 5 years. I live with my husband Danny and our two youngest of four children, Frankie and Betty, along with our dogs Angie and Doris.
I find interior inspiration from old movies, magazines, books, travelling and homes on Pinterest and Instagram. I am always inspired.
I have always loved colour and patterns. I am not a neutral person. I get inspiration from the wonderful colours of India and Morocco. Colour does something to my soul!
I love decorating for Christmas and the magic it brings. I often ask my florist friend Kitten to make a wonderful garland for our fireplace and staircase, then I put glass star lanterns and fairy lights everywhere.
I love to make our hallway as Christmassy as possible! It’s the first place people come into in our house. First impressions count. I fill our hallway with foliage, fairy lights and lanterns!
Kyoto Blossom was my immediate choice. I love the colours and the stripes are so original. It also was the perfect match for our hallway paint Farrow & Ball, Mizzle.
I always say to people who are about to start decorating – create a Pinterest Board. It’s the easiest way to get a room right. Before Pinterest, I would cut pages out of interior magazines and if there was anything I loved, I would look for similar.
I feel everyone is starting to become more aware of their carbon footprint. Since the pandemic, Antique buying has gone up by a staggering 80%. I feel there will be a lot more houses with antiques and recycled furniture.
