From initial design stages of our Parallel collection, it was only natural we looked to our flatweave for inspiration. Unsurprisingly, with with over 30 years of colour and pattern development, we didn’t think twice about combining our signature stripes and most cherished tones within the collection.

‘Parallel’ plays with new textures and techniques, while combining our famous stripes, heritage colour palette and the same 100% British blend wool found in our flatweave. Here we take a closer look at Lexington and Overton and the subtle nuances that make these designs stand out.

Lexington

On first appearance Lexington is a ‘plain’, solid colour rug, that on closer examination reveals a subtly striped surface texture across the body of its design. Sheared to a precise height, the pile balances highlights and dark tones, creating movement while showcasing Lexington’s refined stripes and understated design. A final element of surprise is revealed through a fine pinstripe of contrasting colour, striking down the centre of the design in a subtle nod to our weaving heritage.

Overton

A graphic multi-stripe rug, Overton uses colour and spacing to create a modern gradient effect. Loop stripes are sheared level with the cut pile, giving a clean optical appearance as they break through blocks of colour. The playful design uses this colour within both loop and pile textures, creating complex and inviting dimensions of texture and depth. Like Lexington, the body of Overton features a central contrasting pinstripe revealed amongst horizontal gradient stripes. Familiar colours from our heritage colour palette have been combined in playful and refined versions of this contemporary tufted design.

The Parallel collection opened the doors to explore new and creative ways of working with wool. With their luxuriously deep pile, each rug offers an inviting and incredibly soft surface underfoot, making them perfect for living rooms and areas that are lacking a little warmth. Playing with pile heights, colour and cut and loop textures showcase how our signature stripes can combine subtle design for dramatic effect.

Lexington is available in eight colourways: Airforce, Chestnut, Light Grey, Moonbeam, Ochre, Prussian, Teal and Terracotta.

Overton is available in seven colourways: Airforce, Croft Blue, Dark Green, Mid Blue, Mist, Prussian, Tan and Teal.
