Intricate compositions by the Granite and Smoke team create striking, optical effects in the timeless Roger Oates palette.
Abundant in energy and movement, the collection centres around simple repeating shapes, exploring gradient colours and 3D texture to create enticing tunnels of pattern.

Axo & Infinite Loops
The Axo rug, inspired by the architectural drawing technique of ‘axonometry’, sees repetitive geometric motifs overlapping and intersecting to create a spectrum of depth and vibrancy.
In contrast to the angles of Axo, the synergy of the heavy and light curves in ‘Infinite loops’ move through the pattern, forming a continuous and dynamic motion that symbolises the endless cycles of life.

Behind the Design
Granite + Smoke is a design studio formed in 2019 by lifelong friends Lindsey Hesketh and Claire Canning. Both design professionals in their own right, with Lindsay having worked in architecture and Claire in interiors and textiles, the resulting products they create are playful, graphic and modern. In alignment with our ethos at Roger Oates Design, Granite and Smoke offer beautifully crafted and responsibly made luxury products, all made in the UK.
