Introducing our Kirn and Larkfield collections, created in collaboration with master weaver Heather Shields.
Travelling across country
From the west coast of Scotland to the quiet hills of Eastnor, this collaboration tells a story of two designers and the journeys that separate them. Following a chance encounter between weaver Heather Shields and Andy Guard, Creative Director at Roger Oates Design, the pair have since worked together on two collections, consisting of luxurious woven throws, cushions and upholstered benches.
Taking inspiration from train journeys up and down the country as well as referencing elements from our own design library, both the Kirn and the Larkfield cloths have strong graphic edge with a clean simplicity that infuses each piece with a timeless aesthetic.

Larkfield
Our second collaboration with weaver Heather Shields, the Larkfield cloth showcases a dynamic pattern of chevrons, lines and dots, encompassed in a bold, monochromatic palette. Made with 100% British wool and hand crafted in the UK, this beautiful double cloth has been skilfully transformed into upholstered benches, cushions and throws.

Kirn
Created in 2018 as our first collaboration with Heather shields, the Kirn cloth is a playful reimagining of our Masai Flatweave. Paired with this sophisticated colour palette of blues, soft neutrals and subtle pinks, The Kirn cloth adds an element of understated colour to your home. Made with 100% British wool and hand crafted in the UK, this beautiful double cloth has been skilfully transformed into upholstered benches, cushions and throws.

Behind the Design
Having originally studied textile design at Glasgow School of Art, Heather Shields has since made a name for herself in the weaving world. Known for her playful approach to colour and pattern, Shields creates contemporary, geometric designs that draw inspiration from the world around her.
