Winding Steps
In most cases the inherent flexibility of our 100% flatweave allows a skilled installer to guide our runners around winding steps without compromising the alignment of the pattern.
Mitres
Mitres allow our flatweave runners to change direction on stairs and landings where a turn is required. To accommodate a deep winding step, a mitre may be required on the tread providing a tailored finish.
Landing Areas and Hallways
There are a number of options to consider for landings. Flatweave can be hand joined to create a wall-to- wall area. We offer a selection of ‘ground’ designs which coordinate with bordered stair runners. Alternatively overlays or mitres allow for turns on quarter or half landings.
Wall to Wall Areas
To install our flatweave as full floor coverings, multiple widths of our runners are hand sewn together to fit the dimension of the space. The seam achieved is flat and hidden within the stripes of the design. During the design process, at the forefront of our minds is how our flatweave runners will join together. This consideration allows for a continuous pattern repeat over multiple widths.
Curved Steps
Our flatweave is supple and flexible in nature, allowing for a number of versatile options for all types of stairs. From an awkwardly-shaped curved step to winding staircases, an experienced installer will know how to find the right installation solution for your stairs.
