traceable to the farm

100% British Wool

Working with a transparent and verified wool community

Traceable Wool

At Roger Oates Design we are known for pushing boundaries in design; however, we are also continually striving to improve the quality of our products, the materials we use and our environmental impact.

Most important is our relationship with everyone involved in the journey of our wool, from the sheep on the farms to the rugs and runners in your home.

We are pleased to be working with The Woolkeepers® to source traceable 100% British wool from UK farmers.

New Classics is our first collection to use 100% traceable wool

We are working with Matt, a farmer who is part of the group supplying wool into our 2023/2024 season

From Farm to Flatweave

The aim of the Woolkeepers® is to build a thriving ecosystem which benefits everyone in the wool supply chain, from the custodians of the soil to those who care for the fibre.

We can trace the wool in our products right back to the farm where the sheep are raised. The programme provides sourcing integrity and fairer wool prices for farmers.

Beginning with our New Classics collection, find the origin of the wool in your product below. This is based on your purchase date.

Becoming Woolkeepers

The long term social goal behind the Woolkeepers® farm traceability is to support a campaign which nurtures land transformation and uses wool to reverse climate change.

Roger Oates Design became a Woolkeepers® Partner in 2023 when we developed a new 100% British version of our Venetian Flatweave yarn. This was launched in October 2023.

We are committed to moving our entire production over to 100% traceable British yarn. This includes our Venetian Flatweave rugs and runners,  hand tufted rugs and our accessories.

Every month we make more of our products using 100% traceable British wool. We estimate that our switchover will be completed in 2026.
